Quick answer: To sell THCA flower, first confirm your state allows it, then keep a current COA for every batch, check ID for 21+ at every sale, and start with a small menu of pounds, 2 ounce packs and pre-rolls across three price tiers. Pick a supplier with current lab reports, consistent quality and reliable restocks.
1. Check your state first
THCA rules are set state by state, and they change. Some states allow hemp-derived THCA flower, some restrict it, and some ban it. Before you buy any inventory, read our THCA legal guide and the state guides linked from it.
Two things to know right now:
- Federal change on December 11, 2026. The federal hemp definition switches to total THC, which counts THCA. Our legal guide explains what that means and what we know so far.
- We don’t ship THCA to every state. We currently don’t ship THCA to Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky or Wyoming. The current list is always on our shipping and returns page.
Many states also require a retail license or registration to sell hemp products. Check with your state’s agriculture or health department.
2. Paperwork to keep on hand
- A COA for every batch you sell, from a third-party lab. Every HIGH THCA product page links its COA, and all of them are on our certificate of analysis page.
- Invoices that match each product to its batch.
- An ID check at every sale. Customers must be 21 or older.
- Your state license or registration, where required.
3. Build a starter menu
You don’t need everything at once. A tight starter menu covers most customers:
| Product | Why stock it | Where to start |
|---|---|---|
| Flower by the pound | Your core product; lowest cost per gram | THCA flower wholesale |
| 2 ounce packs | Variety without a big commitment | THCA flower ounces |
| Pre-rolls | Easy impulse buys at the counter | THCA pre-rolls |
| Vapes | Discreet, popular with new customers | THCA vapes |
| Concentrates | For experienced buyers | THCA concentrates |
| Snowcaps | A premium upsell | THCA snowcaps |
For flower, mix price tiers: a couple of top-shelf strains, a few everyday strains and one or two value options from our clearance page. Cover indica, sativa and hybrid. Our indica vs sativa guide explains the difference to share with customers.
4. Work out your margins
- Cost per gram = what you pay ÷ grams. A pound is about 454 grams, a QP about 113.
- Shelf price per gram = what you’ll charge for a gram, an eighth (3.5 g) or an ounce (28 g).
- Margin = (shelf price − cost) ÷ shelf price.
Our THCA flower price guide shows today’s live cost per gram by size, and our weed measurements chart covers the conversions.
5. How to choose a THCA wholesale supplier
- Current lab reports for every product, from a third-party lab, easy to find.
- Consistency: the same strain should look and test about the same from order to order.
- Restocks: a deep menu and steady supply, so you don’t run out of your best sellers.
- Shipping: fast, discreet, and clear about which states they ship to.
- Sizes: QP, half pound and pound options so you can test a strain before you commit.
- Reviews: see what other buyers say. Ours are on our reviews page.
6. Display, storage and turnover
Keep bulk bags sealed in a cool, dark back room. Put out jars or small display amounts, and sell your oldest stock first. Flower that sits too long dries out. See how to store THCA flower for jars, humidity packs and storing pounds.
Retailer FAQ
Do I need a license to sell THCA?
It depends on your state. Many states require a hemp or consumable hemp retail license or registration. Check with your state before you start.
What sells best in smoke shops?
Flower and pre-rolls are usually the best sellers, followed by vapes. Strains with strong smells and good looks sell themselves.
Is there a minimum order?
No. Our smallest wholesale flower size is a quarter pound, so you can try a strain before buying pounds. For larger orders, reach us through our contact page.
What age do customers have to be?
21 or older for every THCA sale.
